Winners Announced for the Second Edition of the “Saminya Bounou” Prize for Gender- and Youth-Sensitive Journalism
On the 10th of December, three journalists were awarded under the framework of the EU-funded project SHAWIRI in a ceremony hosted by EarthEcho Communications collaboration with the Association of Comorian Women in the Press, as part of the second edition of the "Saminya Bounou" Prize for Gender- and Youth-Sensitive Journalism. The awards recognize the best reports produced between 2023 and 2024 that address gender and youth issues.
Second Edition of the “Saminya Bounou” Prize for Gender- and Youth-Sensitive Journalism Announced
Under the framework of the SHAWIRI project funded by the European Union, EarthEcho Communications is pleased to announce the launch of the second "Saminya Bounou" Prize. This award is dedicated to journalists in the Union of the Comoros who have significantly contributed to improving the visibility and representation of women and youth in the media. The winners will be revealed in December 2024.
EarthEcho Kicks Off Activities in EU-Funded “Shawiri” Project in Comoros
Last month, EarthEcho Communications and its partners launched the EU-funded "Shawiri" project in Moroni, Comoros. The project aims to enhance the protection and participation of women, youth, and civil society, marking a significant step towards addressing gender-based violence through positive masculinity. As a co-implementor, EarthEcho introduced the first activity: an audio-visual educational tool capturing young Comorians' perspectives on this crucial issue.
